Back to my roots

World music – Teodora Enache in various instrumental formulas

A representative project for Teodora is the „Back to My Roots‟ series, based on traditional songs.

The first „Back to My Roots‟ album was recorded with Marius Mihalache (cimbalom) and Lucian Maxim (drums). The album was promoted through a European tour to Vienna, Stockholm, Berlin, Budapest and a USA tour.

A selection of songs and compositions inspired by Romanian folkloric sources was assembled in a show entitled DOINA and was presented in a series of international concerts with Johnny Raducanu, Lars Danielsson, Daniele di Bonaventura, Benny Rietveld and Stanley Jordan.

The second album of the „Back to My Roots‟ series also comprises music inspired by Jewish traditional songs. Teodora recorded this album with Emy Dragoi (accordion), Arthur Balogh (double bass), George Dumitriu (guitar/violin), and Lucian Maxim (drums/percussion). This project was presented in a series of international concerts with Theodosii Spassov, Benny Rietveld and Danielle di Bonaventura.
